Training
Craft vocational training
is lacking in Palestine. As a result, traditional and historical
Palestinian crafts are disappearing. Therefore, through the craft
vocational training program, the Dar al-Kalima Academy aims at
reviving the regional crafts, and updating them. The students will
gain the knowledge, the know-how, the practical training experience,
and the skill to run their own production line and eventually operate
their own businesses.
The craft vocational
training will provide several courses in the following fields:

Ceramic: hand
shaping, wheel shaping, coloring, glazing and silkscreen printing

Glass: stained
glass, glass fusing, glass slumping and bead making

Mosaic: using
stone, ceramic and glass

Jewelry: casting
silver, wiring and piercing

Design and
Marketing
-
Basic computer
skills: office, Internet and Adobe Photoshop.
