Salaam For more than 6 weeks Bethlehem was quiet. But on the night of 18 October the Israeli Army was sent into the A-area of Bethlehem, which is an island surrounded by C-areas that are still under Israeli military occupation. Hence, a terrible time for the inhabitants began. Snipers took positions inside tall buildings around the town, tanks were moved unchecked in and out of different neighborhoods, helicopters circled the skies of Bethlehem, Israeli special forces carried out arrests, gun battles erupted and shells were fired. People were in constant fear. Civilians and infrastructure were targeted. On 27 October, expecting the Israeli army's pullout, the staff of the International Center of Bethlehem decided to collect voices and pictures of people who experienced the invasion. In fact, everybody here lived through a time of fear and insecurity. We appreciate your interest in the situation of the Palestinians, which goes so often unreported. And after this traumatic experience, people ask each other: what will be next? The following are the names of
