Dar Al-Kalima Health and Wellness Center offers swimming training course for visually impaired kids
With the coordination of "Alshrouq" school for blind children, Dar-Alkalima Health and Wellness Center offered a beginners swimming training course for 9 visually impaired kids.
For a 4 months period, the kids took regular swimming classes at the center with the supervision of the center's strainer and the help of the staff. The kids ( both males and females) ranged between 8 and 11 years and came from various areas in the Bethlehem district, in addition to other surrounding districts such as Hebron and Ramallah.
The swimming course helped some of the kids overcome their fear from water and introduced them to a new hobby that they can really enjoy. Izz Eddien, who is a 10 year old from Hebron, said: " I really enjoy swimming and would like to continue coming to the wellness center in order to do that. The trainer was very nice and we have progressed a lot because of him."
Upon their request, the kids will continue coming to Dar Alkalima Health and wellness center on a regular basis to swim and practice what they have learnt in the course that they have taken. After some time of practicing, the kids should be ready to take an advanced swimming course at the center.
