The Bethlehem Media Center (BMC) is an independent news and media outlet with its own production team, studio and website. Our production team includes several full-time staff, as well as a number of students from the Dar al-Kalima College in multimedia and filmmaking, who work for the BMC part-time. Professional competency is emphasized in all aspects of production, especially in lighting, sound, camera operation and editing. The BMC studios are used to film and edit productions for broadcast on local and satellite television channels. Debate shows, interviews, informative presentations and documentary films from the BMC have been broadcast on 12 local television stations around the West Bank, with an estimated 2.2 million potential viewers, as well as on the Sat7 satellite station, which reaches viewers all around the Middle East. Documentary subjects include civil society, Palestinian Christians, art, health, and women, youth, and the elderly. The BMC website features articles written by local staff and visitors or syndicated from fair and balanced news sources, diaries from Bethlehem, and a section of facts & figures for those seeking to know more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the current Palestinian situation. More information about the BMC can be found on the BMC website, at www.bethlehemmedia.net.
