What is “Authentic Tourism”? PDF Print E-mail

Nearly 2 million people visit the Holy Land every year. Although 85% of them are Christians, less than half visit the West Bank for more than 2 hours.  Many run where Jesus walked, looking for ancient stones, while missing the current realities.

Guided by a new theology of pilgrimage, the Authentic Tourism program was developed by the ICB.  It is a socially responsible travel offering a holistic approach to visiting the Holy Land.  The ICB’s Authentic Tourism Program was internationally recognized with the “ToDo! 96” Award at the International Tourism Exchange in Berlin, Germany.

Visiting individuals and groups of up to 26 people have the opportunity to stay at the Abu Gubran Guest House inside the Christmas Lutheran Church compound.  Larger groups will be accommodated at our partner hotels in the Bethlehem area.
