International Christian
Youth Festival 2000
During August 2000, the
International Center of Bethlehem invited Christian young people from
around the world to gather in Bethlehem and to experience Palestine,
past and present, with its faith, history, culture and people. Young
people from 9 different countries and from diverse Christian
denominations responded to this invitation and assembled for a unique
gathering. The event that brought them together was the International
Christian Youth Festival, YOUTH 21. During the festival, the youth
groups committed themselves to create a network of Christian young
people who would be committed to play a pro-active role in shaping the
new millennium. As such, the decision was made to hold this festival
every year during the second week of August in Bethlehem.
