International Meeting for Young Women
The first Young Women's Meeting was held
in Cologne, Germany from 26/6/1998 - 5/7/1998. The participants, whose
ages ranged between 15-25 years old, were young women from Germany,
Palestine, Turkey, England, Hungary and Finland. The aim was to bring
young women of different cultures and point of views together to
examine and discuss issues of concern. Visits to different institutes
and organizations initiated lively discussions and debates – due to
the different contexts and perspectives of the participants. The
meeting in Cologne was organized with EU-funding, and a follow-up
meeting was organized in Turku, Finland from 16/7/1999 - 24/7/1999.
