A series of radio shows
tackling issues related to the project Mediterranean Voices: Oral
History and Cultural Practice in Mediterranean Cities. This project

the cultural diversity that constitutes Bethlehem society. It will
also attempt to engage the public in a debate on their cultural
heritage, both tangible and intangible.

The development of the
heritage of the Mediterranean.
-
The work of the Centre
for Cultural Heritage Preservation in linking ‘spaces’ with the
‘voices’ that produce the culture within these spaces.
-
Places and memories:
Diasporas voices, refugee voices and local voices talk about
neighborhoods, clans and so on…
-
Ethnic and cultural
diversity and the emergence of common denominators among different
socio-economic groups.
-
The shaping of popular
culture under the threat of the occupation, land confiscation and
repression.
Objectives:
-
Engage public interest
in the debate on cultural heritage both tangible and intangible;
-
Highlight the
importance of the individual ‘voices’ that produce local culture and
that constitute the essence of this culture.
-
Highlight common
denominators among the various ethnic and cultural groups: the
different ‘voices’;
-
Highlight the
importance of these voices in the planning and implementation of
cultural development projects, particularly those related to
tourism;
-
Bring in ‘voices’ from
the Diaspora.
-
Multiplier effect: air
the show in different stations and forums throughout the country;

(sound bites) to the Med-Voices website.
