April Newsletter

Dear Friends,

It is with poignant thoughts we come to you today with our monthly newsletter. The loss of Christina Saadeh, an innocent child of Bethlehem along with another three men, the war on Iraq and the on-going hardship of Palestinians’ everyday life continue to challenge our ability to bring a light of hope and a vision of a peaceful future to our community. This week marks the one year commemoration of the siege of the Church of the Nativity and the Bethlehem area, along with most of the Palestinian cities. Unfortunately, last year’s scenes are repeating themselves and hence many here feel as if we are living through a never-ending Good Friday.

Yet the International Center of Bethlehem continues to believe in the reality of Easter Sunday; trusting that new life, freedom and hope will come. Therefore, we carry out our programs as a sign of hope while we await the fulfillment of the Easter Promise.

The General Director and Staff of the International Center of Bethlehem
