A Modern Infrastructure Serving the Needs of Palestine

Ad-Dar Conference and Cultural Center

The establishment of Ad-Dar is a response to the needs of the Palestinian people in the future Palestinian state. One of the priorities in this transitional period is to help develop and upgrade the existing infrastructure. A major aspect in this regard is the lack of any adequate conference centers and a forum for cultural activities. Ad-Dar Conference Center, which is funded by the Foreign Ministry of Finland, is an excellent environment for meetings and conferences. The design of the facilities, location, and the up-to-date equipment makes it a unique place for local and international encounters.

The facilities are designed to meet diverse needs. In addition to the Conference Center, several rooms of different sizes are designed to host smaller meetings and workshops. The facilities of the Conference Center include facilities for simultaneous translation, video projector, slide projector, CD players, overhead projectors and video scanners, which makes it the first of its kind in Palestine.

One of the main goals of the author has been to develop Ad-Dar as vital forum, easily accessible from all directions of the surrounding town. Inside the building site, clear connections between the different parts of the complex have been developed: the different functional units of the complex can be used all together or divided into separate units. An important aim has been to create a system of easily accessible outdoor spaces: terraces, patios, and miniature gardens with light wells. All main parts of the new program have direct contact and access to outdoor spaces and gardens.

Facilities:

I- Performance Hall
The Performance Hall, which is a multi-purpose hall with a minimum seating capacity of 300 persons, is suitable for folklore dancing, musical performances, theater plays, film presentations, panel discussions and lectures.

II- Restaurant
