On
Saturday the 31st of January 2004, the International Center of Bethlehem
celebrated the opening of the exhibition “End of Days” by the artists Steve
Sabella. The exhibition can be easily divided into two different art works.
It includes an installation of light boxes photos that is installed in the
2000 years old cave, and a unique photo collection of various Palestinian
Landscapes that are hanged in the main gallery hall. Regarding the End of
Days, Sabella says "I look at my images, images that were once part of the
world that I created myself… Suddenly, I could see through them."
The
exhibition which is sponsored by the French Cultural Center is a touring
one. It was exhibited in Jerusalem, Ramallah, and it will move to Nablus and
Hebron.
Steve Sabella was born, grew up and lives in the Old City of Jerusalem. He
studied at the Jerusalem School of Photography where he received his Diploma
in Art Photography three years later. Steve's visual capacity is well
developed. He has a unique way of seeing, that combines East and West. His
works show a balance between authentic ideas and visual expression.
Enthusiasm characterizes Steve. His success lies in the simplicity and
accuracy of his photos.

He has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in places such Tel Aviv,
Jerusalem galleries in East and West, Khalil Sakakini in Ramallah (twice),
Rome/Italy, Montreal/Canada and now he is participating in a group touring
exhibition in the USA.
Steve Sabella was one of the winners of the Young Artist Award competition
organized by A.M. Qattan Foundation in Ramallah/Palestine for the year 2002.

The exhibition requires a physical experience by the audience. Therefore the
International Center of Bethlehem cordially invites you to visit the
exhibition and to join the artist in his gallery talk on Thursday the 12th
of February, 2004. The Exhibition lasts till Feb 25. The gallery is open
daily, except Sunday, between 9:00 – 19:00.
