Lebanese Clotaire K in Ad Dar

The International Center of Bethlehem is thrilled to be hosting the well renowned artist Clotaire K on February 20th. In cooperation with the French Cultural Center the ICB will be holding this compelling event which will feature Clotaire K and his talented band and dancers.

Being of Lebanese-Egyptian origin and living in the South of France, Clotaire K is a culturally interbred artist, composer, and producer. His remarkable sound mixes the rhythm of hip hop he absorbed from his trips to the USA and the traditional oriental music sounds which he heard from his trips to Beirut. The result unites the dance appeal of the West and the deep emotion from the Orient. The riveting show will also consist of rappers, DJs, musicians and dancers.

Clotaire K’s multiple skills and talents have brought excellent results. In 2003, he was invited by John Peel to record his own “Peel Session” for the BBC, his website www.clotairek.com has reached its 20.000 visitors, he has recently performed in front of 200.000 people on the Larzac for the gathering against WTO (opening for Manu Chao), he has been the opening act for well-known bands such as Asian Dub Foundation, Natacha Atlas, and Cypress Hill and has been nominated for the EMMA Music Awards broadcasted on the BBC 2 alongside with distinguished artists as various as Thierry Henri, Eminem, Salma Hayek and many more.

Critics praise him and with his album “Lebanese” he is taking his mesmerizing show around the world in 2004.
