Paltisana, Palestinian Artisans

Paltisana is an artisan incubator program dedicated to supporting and empowering Palestinian artisans, many of whom are graduates of Dar Al-Kalima University. Established in 2020 at Dar Al-Kalima University, the program is part of the Obader Project, implemented by CARE International in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy.

To date, nearly 110 artisans have joined Paltisana, working across a wide range of traditional and contemporary crafts, including jewelry, glass, ceramics, embroidery, soap making, wool, wood, painting, mosaic stone, and other creative practices.

Paltisana provides a dedicated space where artisans can meet, collaborate, and openly discuss their challenges, needs, and ideas. The program supports the full development of artisanal products, from design and production to packaging, promotion, and marketing.

In addition, Paltisana offers access to professional expertise, specialized trainers, and well-equipped facilities, including jewelry, glass, and ceramic workshops, kiln rooms, art studios, computer labs, and renovation labs. A key component of the program is supporting artisans in marketing and selling their work through the Paltisana Gift Shop and the Paltisana website, creating sustainable income opportunities.

Environmental sustainability is a core value of Paltisana. The program encourages artisans to reuse materials and develop innovative solutions to reduce and recycle waste, such as repurposing stone leftovers and glass bottles.
